Speaker support | Mixed intonation

Speaker support | Mixed intonation

We are fortunate to work with lovely people, who differ in backgrounds, ability and personality. Some are outgoing, chatty and animated. Oozing with confidence.

Put them in front of a lectern with a mic and a room full of people and they become introvert and nervous. They present like a cardboard cut-out with a monotone voice and they lack any passion or expression! So what went wrong?! It is very common for this to happen. A presenter can be given the very best of scripts, but delivered in a monotone way, it can be meaningless and lack impact.

Top tips on how to present like a pro!

  • Be Conversational
  • If scripted, mark up with underlines and prompts to change intonation
  • Pause and Pace

It’s not WHAT you say, it’s HOW you say it!

At Full Circle Presentations, we use fresh techniques to bring personality, emphasis, pacing and pausing back into presentation delivery. One tip and a method to help overcome this, can be to mark up a script with underlines, colour codes, punctuation, pauses and bold in order to prompt and encourage a change of intonation and pace.

More importantly, we use challenging practises and ‘thinking out of the box’ exercises that inspire people, to enable them to step out of their comfort zone. Confidence, passion, enthusiasm, excitement, belief thereafter ensue and are in abundance. It works!

...Before you know it, you too will deliver with mixed intonation to ‘excite’ your audience!
